CNBC reminds viewers GasBuddy saves them money.

CNBC reminds viewers GasBuddy saves them money.

CNBC reminded its viewers today that a lot of iPhone apps are designed to help you SAVE money, not just spend more. In this climate of belt-tightening and cost-cutting, GasBuddy, and apps like it that help users save money, are becoming increasingly more popular.

In fact, GasBuddy can help you generate real world savings of between $100 and $300 per year depending how how well you stick to the program. And it easily pays for itself in the first fill up.

The CNBC article also covered other apps that will save you money.

GasBuddy.com named “50 Best Websites in 2008″ by Time Magazine!

Monday, January 5th, 2009

We’ve been saying all along that we think GasBuddy is an extremely useful app and should be one of the usual suspects on any iPhone.  It looks that we’re not alone.  Time magazine actually selected the GasBuddy website as one of their 50 Best Websites in 2008. See below or read about it here:

Inquiring minds want to know: Where’s the cheapest gas? GasBuddy can tell you. The site collects real-time prices from some 750,000 volunteer price “spotters,” who send in daily updates from their local stations. With prices varying by up to 50 cents from one station to the next in some cities, it pays to stay informed. A heat map displays where prices are currently the highest (California) and lowest (Wyoming). GasBuddy also shows you how prices have changed over time and can send mobile updates to your phone. Other similar but less comprehensive services include MapQuest’s Gas Prices and Gas Price Watch

As the only official GasBuddy app, it goes to reason that having a portable version in your hands only makes the best better.  Think about it.  When do you REALLY need to find a gas station?  When you’re surfing in front of the computer or when you’re actually driving in your car?  How about when the needle reaches the E? Get the useful information on GasBuddy.com when you need it most. Download GasBuddy, the app, today.
