Attend 1-Day Bootcamp this Sat. to Qualify for Paid Summer iOS Dev Internship

Monday, April 25th, 2011

Bottle Rocket is offering a 1 day iOS bootcamp for prospective iOS summer interns. This 1 day session is being offered free of charge at the Bottle Rocket offices in Addison on April 30th, 2011.

If you haven’t heard of Bottle Rocket, we are a rapidly growing mobile development company at the forefront of the mobile app revolution. We have developed and released over 50 high profile, interesting apps for companies like NPR, PBS, Discovery Channel, Disney, American Express, AARP, Bravo, ESPN, SPIN Magazine, BET, History Channel, as well as extremely popular games such as Doodle Bomb and Annoying Orange Kitchen Carnage. Our apps are regularly featured by Apple, included in their national advertising campaigns, used in Apple Retail Stores on demo equipment and many have been awarded Apple’s coveted App of the Week. We estimate that over 15 million people use the apps we have built. These apps are just the tip of the iceberg. We continue to push the envelope of design and architecture and have literally dozens of new projects you may find very interesting.

We will be covering the basics of iOS development in Objective-C using XCode 4. This 6 hour bootcamp will begin at 10 am, and last until 4 pm. Lunch will be provided free of charge. If you have a MacBook or MacBook Pro, please bring it pre-installed with XCode 4. If not, we will have a limited number of computers on-hand for your use. We will be combining classroom instruction with hands-on development. We are only interested in serious candidates, and will be using our interaction and observations of you during this session to select the top candidates for our summer internship program.

If you are serious about a paid iOS development internship this summer, please respond to bootcamp@bottlerocketapps.com by Thursday, April 28th 2011.

iPhone game of the day: Doodle Bomb

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

Almost a year after its initial launch, Doodle Bomb is still receiving great reviews. On October 13, 2010, GamesRadar named Doodle Bomb the “iPhone Game of the Day” based on its cute interface but also surprisingly deep, in a sort of “exploding mouse trap” kind of way.

Taking the Day Off

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

Please excuse us if we are not responsive today.

We have been awaiting the iPhone 4 arrival for a long time. Some of us were smart (or is it lucky?) and pre-ordered the iPhone 4 to be delivered lovingly to our doorstep. Others of us will be waiting in line first thing Thursday morning. Nonetheless, all of us soon-to-be iPhone 4 owners have awaited this day for a while. Whether we are anxiously waiting in line or already experimenting with your new feature set, you can rest assured that 100% of our attention will be focused on the iPhone 4 today. (If you are a current client, we promise that we’re actually working very hard on your app!)

We can now enjoy our favorite Apple apps in a new and different way:

  • Multitasking: Listen to NPR Music in the background as we play Doodle Bomb.
  • Thinner Frame: And, of course, buying all the accessories to accompany the new design.
  • Gift Apps: Sending mom the Gas Buddy app so she can find the cheapest gas nearest her GPS location.
  • Video Calling: Using FaceTime to tell our friends and family about the new (soon to be announced) Bottle Rocket apps.
  • Extended Battery Life: Spending more time with the Disney® Craft Finder without having to hook up for more juice.

How will you be spending quality time with your new iPhone 4?

Doodle Bomb, Bottle Rocket’s physics puzzler with a bang, has been awarded MacWorld’s coveted Editors Choice award and rated 5 stars.

Doodle Bomb: Physics Puzzle with a Bang from iPhone developer Bottle Rocket is one of the few puzzle games we’ve played that gets better the more time you invest in playing it. Addictive, the game is perfectly balanced between too easy and too hard, slowly building momentum and ensuring extended hours of challenging fun with some excellent responsive controls.
