Rocketeer Charity: The Arc of Texas

The Arc of Texas was selected as our first charity of the month. The Arc was created so that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities can actively participate in their communities and make choices that affect their lives in a positive manner.

The organization provides training for independent living, lessons for effective advocacy and education on all aspects of interest to individuals and families of people with disabilities. The Arc’s membership and support is open to anyone who is passionate about changing the way our society views people with disabilities.

Rocketeer Randall Mitchell, who nominated the charity, said his family routinely donates items to the organization.

“The Arc of Texas is important to me because it strives to empower people with disabilities to live their own lives that may not otherwise have the opportunity to,” Randall said.
