Rocketeer Recognition: Bottle Rocket Earns #50 on the Dallas 100 List

Dallas 100 is an annual awards program that identifies and honors the 100 fastest growing privately held companies in the Dallas Metroplex. Whether the company is three years old and has seen rapid growth, or 25 years old and recently got a boost in sales, these companies and their leaders have interesting ideas about how to run and grow a business. To qualify for the Dallas 100, a company must meet a number of criteria based on its legal status, location, sales history, credit report, and character.

Founded by Southern Methodist University’s Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship in 1990, Dallas 100 is a tribute to the entrepreneurial spirit of the emerging businesses North Texas. The companies honored in 2013 have made significant contributions to the area by generating jobs, increasing the tax base and fostering North Texas’ reputation as a premier economic development center.

We are honored to find ourselves on the Dallas 100 list as the #50 fasting growing company in the Metroplex.

Rocketeer Recognition: HISTORY App Wins a Tabby Award

We are excited to announce that HISTORY won a Tabby Award in the video category!

The Tabby Awards are the first worldwide competition for the best tablet apps. The History app was selected from more than 150 apps for iPad, Android or Windows 8 by a panel of 17 international tablet professionals. Judging was based on the overall value for the user, speed, concept, navigation, design, innovation, ease of use, use of tablet device functions and performance.

"This winners' list shows developers are creatively leveraging the tablet and building software that re-imagines the way we interact with information”, said Ravi Bhatt, CEO of BranchFire and chairman of the judging panel. “The Tabby Awards are about celebrating that innovation."

We’d also like to congratulate our client ooVoo for their win in the social category. Finalists and winners were celebrated this evening in a ceremony at the TabletBiz Conference & Expo in New York City.

Rocketeer Charity: Rocketeers Support KERA FM

In the spirit of being thankful this month, this week's charity drawing goes to KERA FM, the NPR affiliate for North Texas that's been around since 1974. Thanks to this station, residents of North Texas have access to topic driven local radio news programs, spot news and music programs mixed with national news, talk shows and radio magazine programs from sources that include National Public Radio (NPR), Public Radio International (PRI), American Public Media (APM) and the BBC World Service.

Rocketeer Sevilla Garza submitted the charity to receive some Rocketeer love because it's an organization that supports the local scene, including musicians. The station's programming includes Think, hosted by Krys Boyd and CEO, hosted by Lee Cullum. Jeff Whittington hosts the call in radio talk show Anything you Ever Wanted to KnowThink and CEO also each have television versions, seen on KERA-TV.
