We have been awaiting the iPhone 4 arrival for a long time. Some of us were smart (or is it lucky?) and pre-ordered the iPhone 4 to be delivered lovingly to our doorstep. Others of us will be waiting in line first thing Thursday morning. Nonetheless, all of us soon-to-be iPhone 4 owners have awaited this day for a while. Whether we are anxiously waiting in line or already experimenting with your new feature set, you can rest assured that 100% of our attention will be focused on the iPhone 4 today. (If you are a current client, we promise that we’re actually working very hard on your app!)
We can now enjoy our favorite Apple apps in a new and different way:
Tim Olson has found at least three Apple iPad billboard ads that feature the NPR app. You can see these New York City works of art through the Flikr stream of TimShoesUntied. Have you found any in your city? Please share your photos with us!

NPR app featured on Apple iPad ad in NYC, 42nd Ave – June 2010
NPR for iPad, developed by Bottle Rocket, has always been among the most popular news apps in the iTunes Store. On June 14, NPR’s CEO Vivian Schiller announced at Wired Magazine’s business conference in New York City that the iPad app has already been downloaded some 350,000 times.
Considering that only about 2 million iPads have been sold to date, that means that about one in six iPad owners have Bottle Rocket’s app on their device. How many other iPad apps can say that?
Bottle Rocket founder and chief strategist Calvin Carter is featured, along with representatives of many other prominent iPhone and iPad developers, in a beautiful new 4:34 video from Apple entitled The story behind the apps.
Bottle Rocket’s most famous app to date, NPR for iPad (get it free in the App Store), is prominently featured on one of Apple’s iPad billboards above the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel in New York City.
